Raymond Robert Lenig, 83, of Beaufort, South Carolina and husband of Loretta Lenig, died Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Lenig was a retired police officer from Pittsburgh, PA. He recently received his 50 year pin from the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Lenig was a member of the Masonic Lodge #242 where he as a 32nd degree mason.

He was predeceased by a son, Scott Raymond Lenig.

Mr. Lenig is survived by his wife of 65 years, a son Robert Raymond Lenig; a daughter Renee L Davis and her husband Kelly G. Davis, Sr.; eleven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Special friends Don Liggitt and Patty and Larry Grimm, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2020, at Copeland Funeral Service – One Copeland Drive.

    Dad I was there every moment during your passing. It was such a hard time. I wish it wasn’t so hard for you. Thank you Dad for being through my life. You made life worth living. You told me to be strong that the pain will go away. I remember when I had fever and how scared I was. You held me until my fever passed. You are my hero in so many ways. You helped people to read. Wow you were the best daddy in the world!

    You were the best uncle ever…I wish I could of seen you again are very loved and will be greatly missed..
    i called Aunt Loretta and shared some funny times we had…when shed take me and Renee with her shopping and then wed come back to the house and shed send us up by you to keep you busy so you wouldnt see her unload all the trees and shopping she did…you just stood there and laugh and shake your head as shed unload the car..
    You loved so much with all your heart..
    Uncle Ray thank you for the fond memories and the laughs ..
    I hope you have your radio to listen to your ball games…and ride like theres no tomorrow with Scotty and my son Jacob..

    So sorry that my best friend passed away. Ray an I have road motorcycles togather for 25 years an have covered many of mile. Sure have a lot of memories. sometime we would just sit an talk for hours. RIP my friend. loved you like my brother.
