  1. Jennifer Clark says:

My husband and I lived next door to Missy for a short period of time. She became like a family member to us and spent some holidays and special occasions with us and our family. We are going to miss her dearly.

  2. Brenda Beasley-Forrest says:

I’m so sorry to hear of Missy’s passing. She was a gifted woman and I’d hope to get to know her better, in spite of her being a private person. My book club holiday party was her last catering job, and everyone was so pleased with her beautifully crafted meal. Spanikopita starters, Chicken and wild rice casserole, salad with poppyseed, Black bean enchiladas, mini caramel cupcakes, and a luscious coconut cake! WOW!

I have her platters that I was supposed to give her after the first of the year but hadn’t heard back from her. I emailed her last week and had it on my calendar to follow up with her today.

You can call or email me at the library to arrange return of the platters.

I hope to be at the graveside service.

  4. Patty Toombs Lane says:

I’m saddened to hear of Missy’s passing. I worked for her part-time from 1998 to 2015 when I left Beaufort. We had only kept in touch through holiday cards since leaving the area and always meant to return to visit. She offered a much needed part time job in 98’ but I received much more. I valued her friendship, enjoyed her quick whit, learned from her talents and generosity.
My condolences to her family, friends, and community she loved.

  5. Brooke Dean says:

I was so sorry to hear about Missy. My daughters had both worked for her throughout middle school and high school. They adored her and had some of the most interesting experiences with Missy. I always appreciated how protective she was with my girls. She was so gifted in the kitchen – we always talked about writing a cookbook and publishing her amazing recipes! I hope that someone gets to do that to continue her legacy. Many blessings to the family. SHe will be missed in our household and remembered fondly.
