  7. Chistina Olson. RN.MSN says:

Jim, you were my friend, neighbor, and patient but not always all at once! You taught me how to be a sharpshooter and how to feel safe and secure. You’re taught me a lot about life and Dungeness garlic crabs from Savannah and ] milkshakes. You’re passing has been painful for so many of us but I take comfort knowing that you can breathe and not have to work so hard. You are a shining star and I’m so happy that Michelle and Robert opened their home for you because they gave you your freedom back. Riding your 4-wheeler from your house to the mailbox and then to my house honking your horn and asking me what are you doing? I had to laugh every time and repeat the same thing laundry taking care of dogs and doing what I did yesterday LOL you always had a plan to break up the monotony. My neighbors have the all said to me I guess we won’t be seeing you running up the street in your pajamas anymore early in the morning LOL I never realized I was being watched but I wouldn’t have cared I’d do it all over again if I could just have the chance to have said goodbye. Rest in peace my friend. Now you can breathe and being a guardian angel for your family. You were loved my many people and thank you for your service and for your love of your country.

Jim you are truly going to be missed but I’m glad knowing you can breathe and are with Ruth your wife. I will cherish the memories of these last few months, going to miss the morning hellos and you saying I’m alive. Most of all the sleep overs where I didn’t babysit you but was there if you needed anything lol. I will do my best to look after your daughter but we both know that’s not easy after all she’s just like her dad. I’m glad I got to call you my friend. Thank you for your service. James Franklin Riggs At Ease Sir.

This wonderful man has taken his bright light home to heaven. He was only loaned to us, but what a huge impact he made in so many lives while he was here. To his family, he was their rock and a blessing. To his friends, he was large as life. To his country, he was an able servant and a Patriot. To me, he was my buddy. You will be missed so much, Jim, but you will never be forgotten. Thank you for being a part of my life.
