Charles Edward Barnard passed away January 17, 2022 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The family will receive friends10:00 a.m., Monday January 24th at Grays Hill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.
Charles was a building contractor for over 50 years, serving the Lowcountry. Charles was also known as the “Goat Man” in Beaufort. He loved his farm and the people in Georgia, where he always could be found on the weekends. He grew up in The Baptist Church of Beaufort and later attended Gray Hill Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Clayton C. and Mary Jean Coleman Barnard.
Charles is survived by his wife and forever love, Linda Taylor Barnard of 57 years. He is also survived by two children, Raymond H. Barnard (Linda) of Beaufort and Carolyn Keiffer (Joey) of Hardeeville; grandchildren Raymond C. Barnard, Clayton Barnard (Melinda) of Columbia, Macala Maraville of Houston TX, Joshua Keiffer (Victoria) and Nicholas Keiffer (Halle) of Hardeeville; great grandchildren Braxton and Levi Regina, Bella Maravilla, Coralee Keiffer, Ruby Keiffer, Axel and Mack Keiffer, Addilyn Barnard, Wyatt Barnard, and Caroline Barnard.

Such and kind, helpful man. I remember when anything broke on Bull Island telling Daddy to get Charles Barnard to fix it. He was always willing to lend a hand. He was such a nice person, always.
He will be greatly missed.
