  1. Roxanne Cheney says:

I’m sorry to learn of Barbara’s passing. Barbara was exacting; straightforward; and principled – traits I appreciated as her customer at Smart Girls, her shop on Carteret Street where I consigned (and purchased!) many items over a number of years. She will be missed. Prayers for peace for her loved ones.

  2. Kandy L. Kovacs says:

I have many memories with Joe and Barbara as I have known the family for 49 years. Last time we saw Barbara was at our daughters wedding, September 2016. It was a wonderful celebration with family and friends! Barbara was a joy to be around! Her love for their home and gardens was evident. Blessings and prayers to Joe from Kandy and Dennis.

  3. Gwen Cassidy says:

I sit thinking of so many memories, my best memory is our last visit, the week before you where called to heaven. I guess we will never know if that peach tree will recover, or pick the blueberries when ready, or me teach you to pickle okra. I guess this is why we are taught to LIVE one day at a time, tomorrow may not come. I will truly miss you Barbara Jean, “your circle friend”.

  4. Sharon Peters Burris says:

    Dear, dear Joe and Family,
Prayers for strength, peace and comfort continue! I only knew Barb through visiting your house to see your yard and garden with my son Jerry! However I remember your praise and compliments regarding Barb. I remember you bragging about her phenomenal cooking talents and always felt the LOVE shared between the two of you. Please keep those memories close and they will help you through this sad time. God bless you and your family.

    Sincerely,
    Sharon P. Burris and family
