Billy Reed, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 01, 2026.

Billy was born on October 2, 1950, in Stamford, Connecticut, to David E. Reed and Ann Duffy Reed.

He attended the University of South Carolina before proudly serving his country in the United States Army Reserve. After his military service, Billy moved to Aiken, South Carolina, where he began a successful career in the building industry. He later relocated to Hilton Head Island where he spent the remainder of his building career. Billy loved Hilton Head Island and was proud to call it his home for more than 30 years. After retiring, Billy moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, to be closer to his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer C. Yeager and husband Merritt. E. Yeager of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Melissa Reed Nation of Aiken, South Carolina; his three beloved grandchildren, Isabella A. Yeager, Merritt M. Yeager, and Jack G. Nation; his brothers, David Reed and wife Claudette of Beaufort SC, and Kevin Reed and wife Alicia of Harrisburg NC. Billy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A graveside memorial service for Billy will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026 at Beaufort National Cemetery, with United States Army honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hilton Head Humane Society, 10 Humane Way, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926, where he adopted his loving dog, Samantha.
