Vela Inez Williams

Vela Inez Williams, 103, passed away peacefully February 21 st 2023 at Sprenger Skilled Nursing
Facility, Port Royal, SC surrounded by family and friends. Inez was born January 24, 1920 to
John W. and Emily M. Craft in Jay FL. She was one of 10 Children.
She is survived by her son, James (Hi) Williams of Beaufort and one sister, Bonnie Mattson of
Tallassee FL.
She is preceded in death by her Husband of 66 Years, Thomas E. Williams, and son, Thomas E.
Williams Jr, eight brothers and sisters and her parents.
Inez became a Registered Nurse in 1942 and spent her entire live as a caring and nurturing
sister, nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and compassionate Christian
friend.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Sprenger ALF/SNF, The Parish Church of St. Helena,
and Friends of Caroline Hospice for their loving care and support during her final years.
A memorial Service and celebration of life will be held at Sprenger ALF on Monday February 27th
at 2PM. Burial will be at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola FL at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice and the Preservation Trust for
Historic St. Helena’s Church.
Copeland Funeral Service is assisting the Williams family with arrangements.
