Trudi Hazelworth Peevey passed away 4/28/26 after years long battle with dementia. 

Born in Jackson, MI, growing up on Gilletts Lake before moving to Beaufort, SC, where she raised her own family and spent the rest of her life. She worked for 36 years in DoD schools before retiring in 2019 from Bolden Elementary/Middle School. She was an active member in her community. Trudi was always involved in her children’s activities growing up and still finding ways to volunteer as an empty nester. You could always count on Trudi to be there for the kids. 

She spent her last years at a memory care facility with considerable help and support from her wonderful SC friends and frequent visits from her high school girlfriends.

 She is survived by her 3 children Eric, Kevin (Ruthie), and Christina Peevey; her sister Heidi Hengesbaugh and brother Wes (Tanya) Hazelworth; her 4 grandchildren Sam, David, Hayden, and Colsen; along with many nieces/nephews, extended family, and dearly beloved friends.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Emmy Lou Hazelworth, granddaughter Harper Lynn Peevey, and brother-in-law Randy Hengesbaugh.

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8th at 11am at Sea Island Presbyterian Church, 81 Lady’s Island Drive, Beaufort SC 29907.
