PORT ROYAL, SOUTH CAROLINA - SSGT Howard Allen Platt, U.S.Marine Corps (Ret.), 70 of Port Royal, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Howard was born in Muskegon, Michigan. He was a son of the late Robert and Pearl Hitsman Platt. Howard was retired from the United States Marine Corps after twenty years of service. Surviving are a sister Mary Lou Cook and husband Raymond "Rex"; a brother Robert Platt Jr.; a niece Lou Anne Cook; two nephews Christopher and Robert Cook; special friend J.T. Del Valle and children Ricky and Kristina Del Valle. Graveside service for Howard will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27th at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.
