Robert Gordon Bruce “Robbie” McCaleb, 63, of Springfield, GA and formerly of Beaufort, SC, husband of Kristi Jane Lanier McCaleb, died Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Hospice of Savannah after a brief courageous battle with brain cancer.

Robbie was born in Louisville, KY and was a son of the late Doctor Foster Collins McCaleb Jr and late Jean Blaine Chrissinger McCaleb. Robbie was predeceased by a brother Ian McCaleb. He was a United States Army veteran, where he earned the Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge- Rifle, and Expert Badge- Hand Grenade. He was a former employee of PSD of Hilton Head Water Authority Department. Robbie also worked, for many years in the construction industry. He had a love for music and was musically inclined. Robbie enjoyed playing his drums. Robbie had a quick wit and could spin a tale that had everyone entertained and laughing.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 29 years, are a daughter Karoline McCaleb; son Robert Hunt; two sisters Amy McCaleb and Kacey McCaleb.

A memorial service for Robbie will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Riverview Baptist Church on Boundary Street in Beaufort. Burial will follow at 12:00 noon at Beaufort National Cemetery with United States Army honors.
