Robert Francis “Bob” Blot, 81, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

 Bob was born on June 22, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, to Francis and Rita Blot and was raised in Colonie, New York. He graduated from Siena College, served proudly in the United States Air Force and went on to spend his career with the New York State Comptroller’s Office. 

To those who knew him, Bob was patient, funny and steady. He was calm and collected in a way that made people feel at ease and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved building old cars and exploring family ancestry, the latter of which kept him busy during retirement at The Heritage Library of Hilton Head.

 Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Iling Blot; his son, Neil, daughter-in-law, Alana, and grandson, Crew; and his brothers, Kim, Barry and Frank. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Rita Blot.

 Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and the steady love he gave to his family.
