Mary Elizabeth Lemoine

d. February 9, 2026

Beaufort

Mary Elizabeth "Sam" Lemoine, 71, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Born on July 8, 1954, in Richmond, Virginia, Mary lived a life marked by resilience, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living. Over the years, she embraced a variety of roles in her working life—serving as a cashier, bartender, and housekeeper—each one reflecting her strong work ethic and adaptability.

Mary was married to Jeffrey Lemoine in December 1997. Their union spanned nearly three decades, during which they built a life filled with shared memories and enduring companionship. Jeffrey considers himself fortunate to have shared his life with her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Patricia; her three grandchildren—Jessica, Kevin, and Angela—and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild this coming July. Mary also embraced her extended family with open arms and was blessed with four bonus stepchildren: Tim, Tami, Emily, and Jennifer. Her father Robert survives her as well as four brothers: Donald, Robert, Harry, and Billy.

Mary was predeceased by her mother Marilyn and her brother David.

In her personal time, Mary found happiness in the comforts of home. She enjoyed cooking hearty meals for those around her and spent countless hours crocheting intricate patterns that became treasured keepsakes. Crossword puzzles and books kept her mind sharp and curious. A true lover of country music, she especially cherished the songs of Loretta Lynn. Coffee was a daily ritual she savored—often paired with quiet moments or lively conversation. Jeff and Mary were fortunate to share a love of motorcycle riding. Mary accompanied Jeff on numerous rides and always appreciated the freedom that she felt when riding.

Mary’s family, Jeff and Lisa, would like to thank Agape Hospice and specifically Nurse Sheila, Nurse Ruby and Nurse Brandie for all of the love, care and support that they provided over the last 3 months.

Mary’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and continue to inspire warmth and kindness in their lives.
