It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Kimberley Paschal Elkins, an adored wife, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away at home surrounded by her family who will always cherish the funny memories she managed to create up until the very end. She was 60 years young.
Kim lost the love of her life, Lex, several years ago, and that love never faded. She missed him deeply and carried their memories with her always. She never lost faith that they would be together again. That faith gave her strength to cross that bridge quietly and gracefully.
Kim was a private and gentle soul, someone who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a very generous heart and was known for her quiet but meaningful ways of giving, whether through thoughtful gifts or acts of kindness that made others feel seen and cared for.
She loved going to the gym, working out, and walking her dogs around town. Kim had a special love for animals, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. She loved bird watching in her yard where she created a sanctuary for them. She had a gift with plants and flowers mostly grown from clippings she would sneak on her dog walks through town. What she loved the most was reading and tanning in the springtime sun with her and Lex’s dog Peanut. She liked simple things that kept her close to home.
Kim is survived by her brother Butch Paschal and his wife Karen, her sister Kelli Paschal Whitmer and her husband Peter Bergeron, and the niece and nephews she adored above all, Camille Paschal, Tyler Paschal, Spencer Paschal, Brad Whitmer and Ben Whitmer.
The family will be having a private service as she requested. Kim does not like attention. She would rather everyone who wants to honor her do a random act of kindness for a total stranger instead. That and help support the local animal shelters the best way you can.
Copeland Funeral Service is assisting the Elkins family with arrangements.
