BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Freeman A. "Bill" Berne, M. D., of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Sunday, January 22, following a short illness.
Bill is survived by his wife, Billie Jean; three sons; five grandsons, and two sisters.
Originally from Columbia, Bill was a graduate of Dreher High School in Columbia, The University of South Carolina, and Duke University Medical School.
A private service will be held by the family.
