Florence Marie Akers, known for her strength, bravery, and unyielding positivity, passed away on December 20, 2025. Born on October 28, 1961, in Hillsboro, Oregon, daughter to Dean and Wilma Hammond, Florence was a dedicated wife of 45 years and was known for her warmth, generosity, and the undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world.
Florence will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim Akers, her beloved children, Steve Akers, Amanda Akers, and Bryan Akers. She is also survived by her pride and joy four grandchildren, Jennifer, Hunter, Gunner, and Charlotte; Amanda's husband James Cook, her brother Eddie Hammond and her sister Mary Vanderzanden; plus, her many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She is joined in rest by her mother, Wilma, and her father, Dean, along with many other loved ones throughout her life. With a hefty family tree and a family consisting of both blood ties and bonds formed from the heart, Florence's reach was as far as it was wide, and she was cherished deeply by many.
Florence's most significant accomplishments were raising her three children, whom she held as her pride and joy. She served as a loan officer for a considerable part of her life before disability set in. Yet, even amidst the challenges life brought her way, Florence never wavered in her compassion and support for her family and friends.
Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. Even when sick or in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did for herself.
