BEAUFORT - Charles Edward "Chuck" Steadman, MSG United States Army Retired, 84, of Beaufort, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his residence.
Chuck was born in West Newton, PA; he was a son of Charles Wainwright and Jammia Murray Steadman. He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Dorchester Lodge # 96 AFM. Stonewall Jasper 6 Chapter of Knights of Pythias, where he was past Grand Chancellor of South Carolina, Veteran of Foreign Wars post #8760, and AMVETS Post # 70. Chuck was predeceased by his wife Gloria Hayworth Steadman.
Chuck is survived by his son, Fredrick H Steadman; two daughters Debbie C. Corley and Monica E Steadman; two step daughters Janet Padalino and Renee Solis; two step sons Rusty and Jay Schley; two sisters Emily Backstrom and Ruth Schroner; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a dear friends Jeff and Betty Hatfield.
A graveside service for Chuck will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 1st, at Beaufort National Cemetery, with Army Honors.
