Barbara Kathleen McGinn McCoy

Barbara Kathleen McGinn McCoy, 101, widow of Frank Reynolds McCoy, Commander United States Navy (Retired), died Friday, February 27, 2026 at Sprenger Health Care of Port Royal.

Barbara was born in Fall River, MA and was a daughter of the late John R. and Josephine Vohoutka McGinn. Barbara attended Seton Hill College and was married to Frank McCoy in 1946.Barbara was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted Navy wife and followed her husband all over the world. Frank and Barbara retired to Dataw Island in 1989.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Deborah Ann McCoy; two sons and daughter in laws, Frank Reynolds McCoy III and wife Linda and John Christopher McCoy and wife Linda; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service for Barbara will be held at St. Peter’s Historical Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Beaufort National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Center, St Helena Island, SC or to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lady’s Island SC, or to a charity of one’s choice.
