Annette Kay McBride passed away peacefully at home on October 10th at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She is survived by her children Daniel Coyne (Lee), Jason Kelley (Holly) & Brandi Kelley along with numerous beloved grandchildren, her sisters Suzanne Merriman, Ann MacNeill & Jeanette McBride. She was preceded by her brother Carl McBride.
Born in Anaheim, CA, Annette made Beaufort, SC her home, first as a model Marine Corps spouse and then as the first employee of Coastal Neurology where she served as office manager, confidante, and friend to all she encountered for the last 26 years. Her motto was to 'always make people your friend' when helping patients. Annette's personality drew people to her for advice in all matters, large and small. She was always available to lend a hand, whether to pay someone's electric bill, buy groceries for their children or to provide a home during a time of trouble. She loved to fish the waterways of the Lowcountry and caring for the various animals who shared her home. Annette leaves behind a large hole in the lives of those she touched that can never be filled.
A celebration of Annette's life will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 3 p.m., Kate Gleason Park on the grounds of Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (komen.org) or Memory Matters (mymemorymatters.org).
